Rejection is just a step to success

I had a call yesterday where the guy hung up on me before I could even finish my pitch. After feeling frustrated for about two minutes, I realized it’s like a game; every ‘no’ just brings you closer to that big ‘yes’. I’ve started treating my quotas like a video game — each rejection just levels me up for the next win.

I totally get that! I try to remember that every rejection is a prompt for improvement. I once had a string of hang-ups too, but instead of getting bogged down, I recorded my pitch and focused on what could be better, just like leveling up in a game.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌

I’ve started using humor in my calls; it lightens the mood and sometimes even turns a hang-up into a laugh — like you said, every rejection’s just a level up — so why not enjoy the game? @mateo5156, have you tried injecting humor into your pitches?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

, the hang-ups drive me nuts too! I remember a day when I got three in a row and thought about giving up. But then I switched my approach, and instead of getting annoyed, I started asking for feedback when they said no.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

It’s all about mindset! I remember transforming my pitch into a story, which not only kept me engaged but also created a more personal connection. @levi87, have you found any specific techniques that work for you during tough calls?
